  • I worked in the neuro department(s) in the hospital. The staff were really nice. I felt like it was a little hard to make friends but if ever I needed help finding things or answers to questions they were very friendly. As a traveler you float first and often. But I got to where I liked all the floors equally. Every unit has the same layout so floating was really pretty easy. Ratio on the neuro unit was 4to1. All others was 5 to 1. The area is pretty and if the weather had cooperated I think that it would have been fun to see more horse races and state parks. 01/27/2016
  • Housing was approximately 9 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was the meadows. Housing was located in city of louisville. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Older apartments. They were in the process of remodeling the outside. Tennis court. 1 pool and TONS of kids. Families out walking everywhere at night. But really they were quiet apartments close to movie theater, restaurants
  • I worked in the med/surgr tele department(s) in the hospital. Epic EMR is awesome. Staff is a mix; some are fairly nice, but few are willing to help a fellow nurse whether traveler or staff nurse. There are a lot of new grads. One great ANM named Sharon; the rest are hard to find and only interested in writing up someone they find not doing something exactly right. One ANM (assistant nurse manager) was on her "useless-travelers-make-more-than-I-do" rant and I was standing right behind her. The hospital is in a nicer part of Louisville but rent is very expensive. Schedule was a block schedule that worked very well. Equipment that one needs is usually available, but when I started and had to ask nurses where things were, newer nurses did not know and several nurses that had been there a while would simply roll their eyes and walk off. I have worked at better and I have worked at much worse. Norton has 5 hospitals in Louisville; everyone says Brownsboro is suppose to be the best of the Norton System. 10/31/2015
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Shadow Ridge. Housing was located in city of Louisville Brownsboro. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I arranged my own housing. Rent $1055 a month for 1 bedroom with no utilities or furnishings. They have a pool in the summer, work out room and laundry machines at the clubhouse. It is a secure upscale neighborhood. Pets allowed at additional cost.
