  • I worked in the ED admits/float team department(s) in the hospital. Hospital is beautiful. Staff is great to travelers, the cafeteria food is amazing and CHEAP, the management is awesome, the work can be hard. Where I worked was in the ED taking admits waiting for beds. You could easily have 8 patients in one shift. (Not at once, you would get rid of your group and get another right away). The winters months were the busiest and the spring summer it calmed down a whole lot. Staff was super kind. The doctors could be distressful to the staff, not all, but a few would. 08/25/2019
  • Housing was approximately 20 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Blackstone RV park. Housing was located in city of Fresno. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Rv park is not in the greatest part of town, but the RV people are super kind and just make you feel at home. Love this RV park because of the people in it.
  • I worked in the CPCU department(s) in the hospital. I took an ICU travel assignment to which the CPCU (cardiac step down) needed more staff so I was floated daily. This wasn't the problem. The problem was that I would have 5 patients, discharge 3, get 3 immediately. Meanwhile, 2 of the original 5 are pretty sick. I don't mind the discharges and admits. However, I felt that they didn't properly rotate who gets the next admit, etc. It was always dumped on me every time I was there while the other nurses sat at the nurse's stations. Luckily, there was another traveler there and we just tagged teamed everything. When I was actually in the ICU, it was nice there. They treated me like one of their own---they just ended up not having the need that CPCU did. I wouldn't go back to this specific unit but would do ICU again if the need arises. The area in Clovis is VERY nice and cafeteria food and cafe are great. 04/11/2019

  • Really Low end basic hotel: woud not recommend; the front desk staff with the exception of "Hilda" we're all awful! I worked in the Labor & Delivery department(s) in the hospital. The manager on this unit is more concerned with how you rate with her charge nurses, as if you were placing in a "Miss America Contest" vs what your skill set is!! Way too much attention on drama. The Charge nurses seem to be intimated by Nurses who clearly are able to function independently and competently, thus this presents a problem for that Traveler! The nurses that are being trained there are being taught to not be independent, but to run every thing related to communicating with a doctor and/ or any patient interventions through the charges nurses at all times. It's a control issue on this unit and Quite disturbing on so many levels! I dreaded every day that I was there! The funny thing is......it's sort of like the "stepford wives" the manager will go on & on about how wonderful they are & how friendly they are! Trust me......Don't believe the hype!!
