  • I worked in the HVU department(s) in the hospital. The staff are all very nice to your face BUT beware because that’s the only place they are nice. Someone joked to me about about Amanda keeping a “log” on travelers and she does. They are just very nasty. Staff gives you wrong information so you get talked to which Amanda logs. Most docs are locums and they hate it there. So much they complain about it in the hall in front of family and patients about how incompetent the staff docs are. According to the patients the staff docs are pretty bad. Pharmacy tries but they miss the mark. I was constantly having to double check orders like a doc would change a dose and the old dose and the new dose would appear on the mar. Pharm would put down future orders too that would be greyed out on the bottom of the mar so it looked a stopped med. the work load was nonstop at 7am I was getting patients from the cath lab. Yep as I was getting report to start my day cath lab would wonder up with a patient this was an all the time occurrence. I was hired without experience in TR bands and told oh we will teach you. NO THEY DON’T! I thought being told we will teach you was a little weird cuz I am a long time traveler and never has anyone taught me anything. Everyone is so busy with their own work no one has time to assist. Sure there is a ADT nurse but they are so busy admitting and discharging that they really have little time to help. 4 days a week of that work really is hard on you especially if you work days and nights 4 nights a week is hard on you period. Truly travel cos are not paying a lot anymore so for 48 hours your pay might be 2000. It’s up to you to decide if it is worth it. 02/08/2020
  • Housing was approximately 7 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Private house. Housing was located in city of Box elder. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. I stayed with a place I found on furnished finders. Ryan and Mandi wool rich I would not recommend they have 5 dogs the house is dirty and you have very limited cooking there. It was cheap but clearly you get what you pay for. I wish they were more honest about the living conditions there
  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. The morale on this unit was so bad that it was hard to even go to work each day. The ratio was 4:1 but the patient acuity was such that it could be far too much to have 4 patients. I felt this was a safety issue and worried constantly. 03/18/2017
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was private apt. Housing was located in city of Rapid City. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Utilities were very expensive
  • I worked in the ONS department(s) in the hospital. I enjoyed this hospital, everyone here is so laid back. I did however not enjoy using their charting system, Meditech. The staff on this floor is so helpful and talk alot about teamwork which I feel is absolutely necessary. There was almost always someone there to help with admissions and discharges which was a lifesaver to me. Patient ratio was not bad either, they shoot for 4:1 but occasionally you will have 5:1. 05/04/2016
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Prairie Tree Apartments. Housing was located in city of Rapid City. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Pet friendly, secured entry apartments, updated, not much noise, safe neighborhood, and very nice staff.
