  • I worked in the medical surgical department(s) in the hospital. I loved living in Lake Charles. I learned a lot at the hospital and the staff was great. The patient load could be overwhelming at times, but the charge nurses were great with helping out. The town had plenty of things to do and see with amazing food. 08/26/2018
  • Housing was approximately 0.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Airbnb. Housing was located in city of Lake Charles. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I found that housing through airbnb and it was super close to hospital. It was furnished nicely and very affordable.
  • I worked in the Med Surg department(s) in the hospital. The friendliest area I've ever been to!!The staff immediately felt like family! The lake is great, there are a lot of festivals during the summer months. Was also there during Mardi Gras!! Seeing a parade and a traditional Mardi Gras celebration in one of the small neighboring towns is a must!! Baton Rouge and New Orleans are also just a short trip away. Staffing was 5-7 patients a night, but staff was always willing to lend a hand. Parking is in a parking garage with easy hospital access. No food for night shift. Orientation was 2 nights, and a day of sitting down and reading policies out of a binder. Would definitely recommend to other travelers. The Bayou Rum distillery is a must see!! Luna and Blue dog are also great places to get a good meal with a great atmosphere!! 06/04/2016
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Little Lake Charles RV Resort. Housing was located in city of Lake Charles. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. They were doing a lot of construction when I was there. Have already made some big changes. In the next year, the place will probably be amazing! Water slide area for kids, an adult pool, large stocked pond for fishing and canoeing, gatherings every Friday night with a DJ and fire.
