  • I worked in the ED department(s) in the hospital. This is the worst hospital I have ever worked at. Your basically on your own for 12 hrs. While taking care of one patient if the call light is ringing its ignored. So you have to get out of the patient' room to see if its you patient who needs something. So If your patient is having difficulty breathing with chest you have to now stop what you were doing to walk this patient to the bathroom as there are no CNA or someone to help. If the patient needs a glass of water you will have to leave what you're doing to go get the patient a glass of water. I have ask myself how do you work under these condition. Report is 1-2 seconds as the hospital does not pay overtime so everyone wants to clock out on time. Horrible hospital to work at.1 08/06/2016

  • I worked in the ED department(s) in the hospital. Travellers before of MERCY HOSPITAL FOLSOM before you sign a contract with any agency make sure you do your research on this hospital. No one tells of you of what you will encounter when you get there. Nurses you have no ancillary staff to help you. There is not even an extra nurse to offer any assistance as their is never enough nurses. There is no time to totally assess your patients because you're been give 2 more who come in via Ambulance and you have to get to those 2 patients to have them triage and have their EKG done while placin a IV catheter. My the time your shift is complete you're so exhausted. By the way they will float you to the other facilities before they are so short staff. Just a warning before you consider signing with any staffing agencies. Can't believe facility is accredited by the Joint Commission. Pitiful place to work. 07/28/2016

  • I worked in the Emergency Department department(s) in the hospital. Hospital was understaffed there were few permanent staff, most of the staffing was per diem. There was a mass exodus of staff leaving just prior to my arrival as a travel nurse. There was short staffing every night. There is no ancillary staff no CNA, EKG Tech's Transporter. No teamwork there was not enough staff for teamwork any way. You have to care for a critical patient by yourself no other nurse to help. When there is no available beds you are then used as an holding nurse which your not trained for.You are placed in areas that you are not oriented to. Most of the responsibilities are placed on the nurses guess that's why there was so few. You're placed on the schedule wherever they want to put you. Horrible working condition at this hospital. Travel nurses be prepared be on your own. No support from clinical coordinators, director, or scheduling. Worst hospital I ever worked at. 07/20/2016
