  • I worked in the 4N Tele/4S Med-Surg department(s) in the hospital. Very unsafe hospital!!! Horrible management, never knew where I'd be working when I went in each day. Sent me across the hospital more than once, only to call me back to work on other side (once, after already taking report & starting assessments/meds)! Only a couple friendly people; the rest hate "outsiders" and I am a very friendly person who can get along with almost anyone! Paper charting, ancient equipment, staff burned out (they were planning a strike when I was there). Have to drive at least an hour to shop anywhere beside Walmart. Hotel where most travelers stay smells like smoke--couldn't stay there with asthma; other housing almost impossible to find. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this hospital--as a traveler or patient! 01/23/2017
  • Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was rented apt over law office. Housing was located in city of Hazard. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I was blessed to find housing with a hospital employee, was beginning to think I was going to have to stay at the Super 8. Some of the places I looked at were horrible--had not been updated since the 70s.
  • I worked in the Labor and delivery department(s) in the hospital. This was my first travel assignment. When I got ther before I actually started other travel nurses where staying at same motel, when I told them this was my first they looked at me with disbelief and stated please do not let this place sway you from travel nursing, in just a short time I found out what they meant. Anesthesthsia and drs that didn' t know what they where doing, and I have done this for 28 years. Nursing staff not friendly at all to travelers contract was for 36 hrs I worked 48. I am like the other responder who said "I couldn't wait for the assignment to be done. And now hat I have been to other hospitals I am glad that hazard was my first because it has only been up from there. 01/11/2017
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Combs motel. Housing was located in city of Hazard. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Owners where very nice. It was the best part of the assignment. Rates excellent rooms clean.
  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. In the heart of the Appalachian mountains, weather for the winter months went by quickly, so it warmed up fast. Gets hot and humid by June/July. Hospital staff are all very nice. 10/05/2016
  • Housing was approximately 25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Carr Creek Campground. Housing was located in city of Sassafrass. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. We also stayed at the hazplex apartments located close to the hospital during the winter months, our unit was clean and the rent was 600 per month. The water was included, but when Mngt broke down the prices, it didn't seem right. Scale for this place is a 3
