  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. So at first it was good but then as I worked with them and towards the end of my contract I was just wanting to get out of this contract. The huddles are ridiculous. 15 minute huddle in the morning and 30 minute midshift huddles. And overall a lot of meetings, they prioritize it over patient care too. E.G. nurse supervisor sees that I am doing patient care in the room and tells me we have to do a huddle or when we are on our lunch break calls us for the huddle which is inappropriate. Politics is present here too, e.g. senior nurse gets one patient the whole shift while travel nurses discharges a patient then admits right away. AND for the regular staff about 90% are not trained to handle crrt, and so they give the crrt patients to the travel nurses or systems float which I think is ridiculous! Regular staff in the ICU should be educated upon starting to work in the unit. Could not recommend this hospital to other travelers. And yes supervisor follows you to hourly rounding and make you do the whole thing of introducing yourself like a role play. 03/21/2017
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was n/a. Housing was located in city of ye. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. In the ICU there is a number of old charge nurses who make work difficult. You can't do anything without being questioned and overall the acuity is low so they prioritize poorly. Huddles in-between shifts last 30 minutes and they make you role play a scripted hourly rounding, it's brutal. They care more about your charting than patient care. There are some staff who are fantastic unfortunately they are drowned out by those in charge. I floated to the step down unit a lot, it is run better but not so much better I would recommend it. 10/10/2016
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Cherry Arms. Housing was located in city of Alexandria. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Cherry Arms will do short term leasing and furnish the apartment for you but it is not cheap. Read the contract carefully they worded it tricky and I ended stuck with an extra month lease.
