  • I worked in the Float pool department(s) in the hospital. Pros- nice looking, pretty area Cons- everything else. Poor orientation process, unsafe nursing practices. Management and staffing rude and careless. Had a very serious concern on the floor multiple times with little to no response. This place runs more like a business catered to VIP clientele and no respect for their own staff. Nurses walk on eggshells and are made to wear gps devices to track the staff at all times (legit badge gps) 04/08/2020
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Condo . Housing was located in city of LA. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
  • I worked in the GI department(s) in the hospital. The amount of time/paperwork BEFORE you even start the assignment is ridiculous. The first 2 weeks you spend in classroom time could of been better spent for nurses ( i have problems sitting for 8+/hours daily listening to lectures!)Hope you have EPIC charting experience, but even with that, you will note how much more charting is expected. The charting/documentation is EXTREMELY excessive for EPIC, and I truly believe this is part of their inefficiency issues. Rarely do procedures start on time; partly because of the pre-op charting, part due to doctors showing up late. My other issue is how the procedure room is set up...when i have to document during procedure the computer is set up where I have to turn my back and document. Computer on wheels would help this situation. Where they state they are "open" for suggestions...not from travelers. Also, be prepared to be frustrated with how not everyone (staff/travelers)do things. I could ask one question to 5 people and get 5 different answers. Ugh! POSITIVE SIDE: this is a team player atmosphere...everyone helps one another; most times I don't even have to ask! Awesome! They have welcomed me and are traveler friendly in this department (but not all, so Ive learned). I am learning more skills, techniques of the procedures and the doctors are amazingly talented and approachable.I'm learning a lot, and that is something I truly enjoy. I would extend my contract IF I didn't have to do weekend call (its a nightmare in this department). I would recommend this hospital to a seasoned RN with Epic computer experience. 03/05/2017
  • Housing was approximately 2.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Villa Vicente. Housing was located in city of Los Angeles. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I recommend this apartment complex due to the location. You will be in the Miracle Mile district, and in walking distance of many great restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Also in walking distance of LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, The Grove in Beverly Hills.
