  • I worked in the Behavioral Health department(s) in the hospital. Staff was very welcoming. Safety didn't seem to be a top priority however, there was no use of metal detection or checking visitors before they entered the unit. Nurses sat out in the open with no glass or barrier protecting them from violent patients/visitors. I had absolutely no orientation, the minute I stepped onto the unit I was given 5 patients and told "good luck". Scheduling staff was rude and not willing to be flexible. I eventually had to get my recruiter involved to help solve the ridiculous schedule they had me working. Manager on the unit was not helpful and seemed to sit in her office all the time, never offering to help. They were continuously short staffed and the permanent staff members would call in on a regular basis just because they didn't feel like working. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone working in Psych mainly because it is completely unsafe. 05/29/2017
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Woodspring Suite. Housing was located in city of Fridley. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. I stayed in an Extended Stay...it was brand new when I stayed there so it was nice however the cops were there everyday dealing with drug busts and other petty crimes. There was only one elevator and it was broken often. Staff was nice however and pets are welcome.
