  • I worked in the Operating Room department(s) in the hospital. This OR thinks travelers are "expensive" so they will keep you in a room all day. They will even re-arrange the cases so that travelers are kept busy. You will not get morning or afternoon breaks. This OR is very short staffed and there are no back up plans for staffing if the call team works all night or if someone calls in sick. Surgeons add on cases and they are allowed to do them even though there is limited staff after 3pm usually the call team. Sometimes there is no relief at 3pm but you can't leave cuz that is patient abandonment. I would not recommend this hospital to travelers. The surgeons are nice to work with, no problems there. 06/05/2017
  • Housing was approximately 3-4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Candlewood Suites. Housing was located in city of Champaign. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Staff is great, pet friendly, free washers and dryers. They have a fitness center, no pool but for me that is not a requirement.
