  • I worked in the ICU/ but really Float Pool department(s) in the hospital. Hired for ICU day shift, only went to the ICU one time in 4 months. They float you to M/S Tele, constantly. Also since you are not union they will put you out of "their ratios" so Staff can only have 3 Tele patients but the travelers can have 4 so you'll be admitting a lot, You will also float mid shift a lot to other med surg floors. THEY DO NOT HAVE BREAK NURSES HERE, I REPEAT NO BREAK NURSES IN A CALIFORNIA HOSPITAL.... its absurd. You break your fellow nurse and are sometimes watching 10 patients at once. Sometimes not enough CNAs so you have to do extra work and are expected to be able to be in 4 places at once. Long story short, don't come work here if you are a true ICU nurse and you hate working the floors because that's all you will be doing and sometimes the staff is helpful and sometimes not. The acuity is low so I think the patient's in the ICU are septic/ medical patients and downgrade to step down rather quickly. 05/29/2018
  • Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Found my own. Housing was located in city of Hermosa beach.... the best place to be. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I lived in hermosa, took the PCH to work everyday in the morning and traffic was fine, took me about 15-20 minutes to get there. Parking is super easy at this hospital
