  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. This is my first assignment. I wanted the Fort Lauderdale area and I came down off-peak season and had no other options. At first the manager seemed awesome and helpful, but after the first week his demeanor changed and he was extremely hard to contact or find for work/schedule related issues. There was one instant where I personally called him relating to missing hours my agency noticed from my time sheet, and he told me he would call me back later that day and he never did. It took me two days to hunt him down there after. Initially the staff aren't friendly, but once they get comfortable with you they open up and are fairly friendly. The equipment isn't an issue, everything seems to work just fine and gets the job done. The patients aren't what I would classify as "critical". Most of them aren't intubated, and a lot of them are in the icu for observation relating to their age or behavior, so most of the time I was bored which made this very unpleasant. The doctors treat you like you stupid and act bothered when you call them for orders or issues. This is an HCA facility so if you know don't know much about that I'd do your research. The training and modules they make you do leading up to starting is a nuisance and a pain but the facility will pay you for it. Other than a few other "annoying" aspects of daily work in this facility, it wasn't extremely painful but I don't think I would ever recommend a nurse to work here or ever take another assignment in this facility. 08/05/2017
  • Housing was approximately 20 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Self found . Housing was located in city of Fort Lauderdale. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. None
  • I worked in the icu department(s) in the hospital. They suck. They staff is unhappy with good reason because the patient ratio is horrible. The food was awful. 01/02/2007
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was i forgot the name. Housing was located in city of pompano beach. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. The housing was okay because of my travel company put me somewhere nice.
  • Its a nice hospital but as a traveler you are being floated first.Every week you float 2-3 times. Computer charting is very nice and fast.PCAs can do blood work and accu checks.Every floor has a different routine on how things are done regarding orders and charts. Some floors require you to make the phone calls while on others you do not have to deal with phone calls and signing charts.
