  • I worked in the General Medical Unit department(s) in the hospital. Don’t come if you value your license. The interviewer *LIES* about ratio, will say max 1:6 when the minimum is 6, and usually it’s 7. There are attempts to give *8* but when travelers refuse and the “no patients” charge has to pick up that extra pt, suddenly an extra nurse is found! Patients are super nice, acuity not bad at all but that doesn’t mean much when your load is 7+! Day shift staff nurses seen taking 8 pts and being OK with it “because I have an LVN with me handing out the meds”. Since they are all very new nurses ( 1-2 yrs) they don’t realize that as the RN anything that goes wrong will be on THEM! 02/08/2020
