  • I worked in the 3W department(s) in the hospital. I worked here for 9 months. You float alot. Every floor is basically always understaffed so as a traveler you're alway getting pulled. Which is expected. I usually worked with 7 patients( sometimes I even charged with 7 patients) but sometimes the nurses have to take 8 patients. I never did because I felt it was unsafe. This hospital pretty much will dish out whatever they can if the nurses take it. Alot of the doctors are horrible, rude, and arrogant and the hospital lets them do whatever they like just as long as they continue sending their patients there. And what really got me(and this should have set off an alarm from the beginning) was the fact that in orientation, they tell you that the DOCTOR is your customer with little regards to the PATIENTS. Are you kidding me? The staff is overworked. Supervision is constantly scrambling to provide staff shift by shift. There is a huge turnover. Not even the new grad nurses will stay. 03/10/2008
  • Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Diamond Lakes. Housing was located in city of Lafayette. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. Not the best once I talked with other travelers. Amenties are pretty much extinct. Fitness room consists of 3 pieces of equipment. 2 pools but one needs floor work. Tennis/basketball court.
  • I worked in the ortho/nuero department(s) in the hospital. What a misserable Place. Told agency they needed med surg/Tely. However Nurse manager called from ortho/nuero. Thought it was a typo but now I wonder if it was due to that departments reputation.Nurse Manager was miserable & hateful 11/30/2006
