  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I have traveled twice to this hospital. Although small, the staff is incredibly friendly and a pleasure to work with. Equipment was relatively new and generally felt as though there were enough resources and staff. 10/31/2017
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was private housing. Housing was located in city of Olympia. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. There were numerous Craigslist listings and found great housing in Olympia. It is about a 30 minute drive to Shelton, but has much more going on and conveniently located between Seattle and Portland for longer drives.
  • I worked in OB. Nursing staff very traveler friendly. MDs very traveler UNFRIENDLY. MDs dangerous - change IV infusion rates on infusing drugs without telling nurses. Peds wo not come in to see sick pts. Rude to nurses, hanging up on them when they call to report problems. Careless technique by MD caused needle stick to traveler. More than 10 nurses left a very small unit due to MD behavior. The housing was Black Lake Apartments about 20 miles away from the hospital in Olympia, WA. I would rate the housing a 3. Noisy neighbors. Had horrible plumbing flood and could not get in touch with management to get it fixed until it was out of control. Agency did not pay rent and got eviction notice and utility shut off notices due to non-payment by agency as well. Facility did have work out room, tanning bed, 2 pools, and meeting room. Could have been worse.
