  • I worked in the Icu department(s) in the hospital. Do NOT go here on your first contract if you are a new nurse. This is a 4 bed Icu that is commonly filled with tele or even medsurg pt's. Staff is all super friendly. Nice reprieve for an experienced nurse. Just started a hospitalist program Sept 2013. Dr Constantine is really nice and is not rude when called at night. Takes call for most pt's. Self schedule. Icu monitors the tele pt's on the floor usually no more than 4 at time TOPs. Uses meditec magic( total crap) charting.Helps if you have PaCU experience while working in the ICU but they will not make you perform pacu if not comfortable. At night only asked to perform PACU twice in 3 months. Intubated pt's maybe a couple times/ month. Lots of alcohol withdrawal pt's. I worked night and they were very slow usually. The day shift can be fairly busy for the Icu nurse. Was often times staffed with 1 Icu nurse and 1 tele/ med nurse. Lived in Ventura at cypress point apartments 25 min commute. Pleasant homey and nice location. 01/10/2014
  • Housing was approximately 20 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Cypress point apartments. Housing was located in city of Ventura. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Covered parking available. Nice employees.
