  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. The Hospital is old. The staff is great. I have seen them turn SH#$% to sugar on a daily basis. The management is quite a different story. Communication is non-existent. They would rather leave nurses in rooms well passed the time they were scheduled to get off without relief, rather than ask them ahead of time if they can stay late to finish a case. Overtime is a joke because they will will work you like a dog at the beginning of the week(10-12+hour days)for straight time and then send you home early so you don't go over 40 hours and get the overtime you deserve. None of the managers can or will come in to a room and circulate or scrub to give lunch relief. Common response to "I need to get off work on time tomorrow because I have an appointment" is "I will see what we can do". I saw 2 travelers terminate their own contracts within weeks of each other over the same nonsense and no improvements were made. The city is great. A lot of things to do. I just wish the managers could get their heads out of their keesters and get it together. 02/13/2014
  • Housing was approximately 7 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was candlewood suites. Housing was located in city of San Antonio. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Management and staff at Candlewood Inn and Suites downtown were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
