  • I worked in the MICU department(s) in the hospital. Hospital uses EPIC first of all. The staff is reasonably friendly in MICU, I floated to SICU and they were especially helpful for a new traveler. MICU nurses are not necessarily very helpful but friendly. I have not found charge nurses to be useful in the MICU dept. Assignments are fair. Overall a decent hospital to travel to. Its a teaching hospital so there are doctors literally everywhere. They also have a turn team which comes by q2 hrs to help turn total care patients. They also have transport as well as a transport nurse which will take your patient down for you for CTs or MRIs. For Parking nights is easy enough, you can park on campus in the garage, for days though you have to park off campus in a church parking lot and bus in; both which cost $39/month. 08/04/2020
  • Housing was approximately 7 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was AirBNB. Housing was located in city of Santa Ana. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Very safe gated community.
  • I worked in the NICU department(s) in the hospital. I walked to work every night and felt very safe. The staff was friendly and I was treated like staff--included in pot lucks, unit gifts and unit feedback to management. I would highly recommend taking an assignment at UCI. You will never get bored in Orange County. 04/14/2014
  • Housing was approximately 0.25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Renaissance. Housing was located in city of Orange. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. In unit w/d, nice gym, updated kitchen. Guest parking is limited, but no problem with my own parking. Easy access to multiple freeways.
