Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Vernon Inn and Suites. Housing was located in city of Vieoqua. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. - I worked in the 2North department(s) in the hospital. For the most part, every single person I ever ran into was greatful for a traveler and always tried to help. employees I didn't even know would greet me and ask how my days were going. when I made mistakes on the computer system, the unit mgr was great at explaining as well as the pharmacy with the very very different levels of care r/t meds. hard to explain. there is one particular nurse that has been with the facility for several years and is very much a bully, very condescending, and downright rude and nasty. I did have one nurse I confided in about this person and have been told that she will bully any and every nurse she gets a chance to. I was asked if I would possibly extend because I have time off before my next contract starts and I would if it wasn't for dealing with this one super bad seed in the bunch.
not much to do around here, though lacrosse is only about 40/50 minutes away, so you can do that with lots of beauty there, as well as a mall and lots of the stores you would look for in a larger town. being such a small town, I think almost every single patient knew at least one employee or the other way around. as for restaurants, not much fast food, which I don't really do anyhow, but there is one more restaurant I have to get to by the end of my contract, I have been told Viroqua Family Restaurant is wonderful. I grew up in Chicago and the local pizza joint- Daves Pizza- has a pizza to rival my Chicago style any day! def need to eat there if you can. the area is beautiful for outdoors people, lots of trails and local-ish places to walk in a state park or otherwise. 10/21/2014

I live 2 hours from my home with this job and I have a hotel that is less than 5 minutes from the hotel. Hotel extended stay suite was WONDERFUL, most of the staff was great. There were a couple of crabs like anywhere you would go, but to be expected. My particular room was newly built, had some very annoying carpentry flaws that were at times difficult to get over. Recently got rid of pool, that would have been nice, but easy to get over. Bed was very comfortable for not being in my own home. Internet had major problems; not many tv channels to watch, so combined, it was difficult to watch even Netflix. but I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I came back to this town for another assignment!
