No matter where you go, the holidays are pretty much the same at the hospital. As you know, the sick stay sick and people are expected to work. Although everyone is working, the hospital atmosphere seems to get a little cozier and people come together more. More than likely there will be a potluck. It is hard to get through the holidays without going to a potluck.

What can you bring that is really easy, that most people like? After all, you may not have very many cooking utensils with you or recipes for that matter. The following are a few suggestions for really simple recipes to get you through the holidays that don’t require much cooking or ingredients, but taste delicious.

The first one, Crab Dip, is so tasty and doesn’t require any cooking at all. All you need is a knife.

Crab Dip

1 lb Imitation Crab

1 8oz Pkg Cream Cheese

½ Cup Mayonnaise

¼ Cup Chopped Celery

¼ Cup Green Onions

2 Tbl Lemon Juice

Simply combine all the ingredients and let them sit in the fridge over night. Bring crackers and you are set. Your dip will be a big hit.

Almost everyone loves deviled eggs. They are easy and difficult to mess up.

Deviled Eggs

Mayonnaise

Horseradish (1-2 tablespoons)

Dill Weed

Mustard

Boil the eggs and peel. Cut the eggs lengthwise and take out the yellow middle. Mash all the yokes in a bowl and add the above ingredients to taste. First add the Mayonnaise to get the consistency that you want. Use your favorite mustard flavor and then add the Horseradish (key ingredient) and the Dill. You may want to add salt and pepper to taste with a dash of paprika as well. This is so easy and all it requires is a knife, fork, and a pot to boil the eggs.
