What is the Right Age to Become a Travel Nurse?

Who cares what age you are. Age is not really a factor in the Travel Industry. What really matters is whether or not you are willing to travel and have the skill to do the work when you get there.

I have known travelers of all ages. Recently, I did a small study just to see what the average age of the traveler is. I also wanted to see if there was a difference in age between the people who want to travel (but never have) and people who are currently traveling. I thought the first group of people who wanted to travel would be younger than the ones who really are traveling. Perhaps the younger nurse had the desire, but was more nervous about venturing out.

I took a small random sample of 12 nurses currently traveling and 12 nurses who want to travel. I was really surprised when the two groups turned up with the exact same average age. I’m sure you are wanting me to spit it out by now. I can’t hold back any longer. The average age of people traveling or desiring to travel both turned out to be age 43.

This is a curious thing. It made me wonder if people are experiencing a version of the mid-life crisis and venturing out for a little excitement. Either way, this average also indicates that many nurses younger and older are traveling with the average being 43.

Even if you are nowhere near age 43, who cares. That’s what I say. Traveling is about adventure and curiosity which lives as long as we feed it.
