  • I worked in the Ortho department(s) in the hospital. They use MediTech, which ruined my time there, as I have an affinity for EPIC. They rooms are absolutely beautiful. Singles. Clearly, they chose to spend their money on how pretty things look rather than ways to help nursing do their job more efficiently and safely. Some of their systems were just not evidence based. Some of them, I couldn't even imagine would be approved by JHACO. During your first week, they make you take this critical thinking exam (takes hours). All the staff said they all failed it. Everyone takes it twice. What a great way to welcome new staff/travelers: break down their confidence with a test they can't pass. On the plus side, the ratios were adequate. 1:5. The staff was extremely nice to me and very team oriented. Very helpful. Not a teaching hospital, so the doctors are usually not there overnight. The doctor's weren't so kind when I had to call them at 0300 for a new order. 09/16/2016
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was (I moved SEVEN times). Housing was located in city of Kearney. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Housing was impossible for me here. I took the stipend, but then couldn't find anything. I moved seven times. In and out of hotels. But not everyone had as hard of a time as I did.
  • I worked in the Operating Room department(s) in the hospital. Didn't get to scrub often as an RN. No bathroom in the OR (must cross the "red line" to find a toilet. Those are the biggest downsides. 10/14/2015
  • Housing was approximately 6 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was ---. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Airbnb

  • I worked in the emergency department(s) in the hospital. 7 to 10 pt assignments, most coworkers are new grads, the doctors...most deplorable with lack of respect towards nurses, and the nurses dont know any better to complain. Revolving door of travellers, they will ask you to change your documentation. Did 20 weeks there. Please please beware. And be prepared to get bullied. That being said...loved some of my coworkers..they were awesome!! And PA in general is a blast!! 10/06/2015
  • Housing was approximately n/a mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was n/a. Housing was located in city of n/a. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Did not take
  • I worked in the TCU - Transitional Care Unit department(s) in the hospital. TCU was an awesome place to work because of the staff. Very open to travelers, willing to help. Computer systems were not optimal, but because of the support and caring staff this is an exceptional place to work. 08/23/2015
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Elizabeth House. Housing was located in city of Kearney. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I rated housing a 4 because even though it was very nice, I wanted a one bedroom and they only had studio apartments.
  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. The nurse to patient ratio in the ER was 1:3, if there was multiple call offs it might be 1:4. When appropriately staffed, there is one ERT for every 9 patients and they are incredible. On one very busy poorly staffed night, I had a code that started out with just me, the doc and an ERT in the room and it was a few minutes before anyone could get free to assist. But the ERT was so on top of things that he was handing the doc and I stuff before we even opened our mouth to ask for it. 06/19/2014
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Chestnut Hills. Housing was located in city of Puyallup. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. I lost my keys in a MCC while I was out there. Not just their apartment keys, but all of my keys. The assistant manager Brandon was super understanding, but the actual manager gave me a really hard time over the whole ordeal. Despite the fact that I was locked out of my apartment for 36 hours because it was a weekend and their "emergency line" is an answering machine that doesn't get checked. I wouldn't live there again for love nor money. Also a guy in his mid twenties came and knocked on my door and tried to sell me a magazine for his "school trip". Really?
  • I worked in the pcu/icu department(s) in the hospital. You are not and will not be supported here. You are guaranteed to be thrown under the bus regardless of something being your error or not. Management rude, degrading and on serious power trip. Management will do these things in front of patients, other coworkers etc... 04/25/2014
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was belara at lakeland. Housing was located in city of Auburn. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. I'm sorry just too many kids for my liking....
  • I worked in the Cardiac Cath Lab department(s) in the hospital. The staff overall was very kind and accepting. Parking was difficult at times. Housing was difficult to find. Check out the hotels for suites or deals for long term stays. The town is small. Huting, fishing, and biking and walking paths are close. 12/22/2012
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was no name. Housing was located in city of Kearney. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Long stay hotels are all around and provide different ameities.

  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was private. Housing was located in city of Los gatos. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. Core staff is given preference for shifts. They are paid overtime before travelers are paid. Averaged cancellation 1 shift every 2 weeks. 08/24/2008
  • Housing was approximately 26 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Destiny RV Resort. Housing was located in city of Goodyear. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Nice RV resort, gated with security, pool, laundry room, exercise room. Good place to stay if you want to bring your camper and have your own items during your travel assignment.
  • I worked in the icu department(s) in the hospital. I really enjoyed working at this hospital. My travel company was horrible, but Good Sam made up for it. The staff was always helpful and nice. I felt like I could ask anyone for help, anytime. The doctors were increadibly friendly and approachable. The only issue I had was that they would let their regular staff pick up hours (5 days a week) and the travelers would get floated just about anywhere in the hospital or worse, cancelled. I would recommend this hospital, but encourage you to work on a unit that is understaffed. I actually ended up switching from nights to days so that I could get my hours in without floating 3/6 shifts or getting cancelled. 12/23/2007
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Citi on Camelback. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. The Citi on Camelback complex itself was great. Two pools, washer and dryer, hot tub. The management on the other hand is horrible and the house keeper was creepy, she told two separate couples that the apartment they were moving into was her old place and how she is forced to live with her brother. She is often seen sitting on the curb crying on the cell phone and smoking. We had an ant infestation that we wanted taken care of, the manager Natasha called us yelling after we had mentioned it to our travel company. Very shady. Didn't feel comfortable walking around the block, there is a reason why it's gated. The bed was terrible too. It was a full and had no boxspring. They claim it is built in. This would be fine if your single and never want to have anyone in your bed or if you don't mind your husband sleeping on the couch. If you never have any housing issues to resolve it was a great place to stay.
  • I worked in the LABOR AND DELIVERY department(s) in the hospital. There was a high turn over and new grads hired. Staff did not want to deal with travelers. I had a new, two years in to her career, orienting me. Which she did poorly. Was not introduced to any of the staff during my first day. There were days during a 12 shift that the only thing said to me was can you watch my patient. I felt very unsafe. The doctors were residents and were very easy to work with. 11/23/2007
  • Housing was approximately unk mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was self. Housing was located in city of phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. took own housing
  • I worked in the CCU department(s) in the hospital. Staff nurses very friendly to travelers. They do not dump heavy assignments on travelers especially when you float. 11/01/2007
  • Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Promontory Point. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. Housing in are with "good" crime statistics, but area around it was unpopulated which gave falsely good statistics. Apartment complex allowed large dogs which was a problem for us. Unsafe to walk alone at night.
  • I worked in the Tele department(s) in the hospital. Be sure to check out Pizzeria Bianco 05/03/2007
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was East Osborn. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Gated
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. Friendly toward travelers, technology a bit behind. Called off frequently, 1q2wk per AZ hosp assoc rules.Mgnt encourages core staff to work OT instead of using travelers which often resulted in travelers getting called off. Many travelers hired on permanently. Dayshift difficult to work with, got requested schedule 90%,Travelers orient travelers & are 1st to get floated. 02/05/2007
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Arranged own. Housing was located in city of PHX. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Colonalde Gardens, great walking location to many shopping venues, grocery, mall, fast food and restaurants. Studio rent $500 w/o utilities/cable. Laundry on site.
  • I worked in the Neuro ICU department(s) in the hospital. I would not recommend living very close to the hospital, it is not in great neighborhood but it only takes me 20-25 minutes to get to work. Parking is good (on night shift) They have a lot of security around the hospital. I live in Scottsdale and there are tons of things to do, Oldtown Scottsdale is less than a mile away, and so is Scottsdale Fashion Mall. Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, and Paradise Valley are all within 20minutes away or so. Housing is awesome with pool, hot tub, gym, social room, and gated complex. And you can't beat the weather! Over 200 travelers at Good Sam, and EVERYONE is so friendly and nice it is great...all of the travelers love it and many travelers have stayed there as core staff. Definitely recommend this hospital to any traveler. 12/01/2006
  • Housing was approximately 7 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Colonial Grand at Scottsdale. Housing was located in city of Scottsdale. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I have washer/dryer in unit, covered parking, gated entrance, pool, hot tub, gym, social room and the apt is very clean and upscale.
  • Many unsafe practices. Expected to do things which I felt were unsafe and unethical.
  • I worked in the gi department(s) in the hospital. Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Back Bay Manor. Housing was located in city of Boston. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Allowed dogs. Close to the T. Walking distance to many hospitals Unsafe neighborhood but secure building. Rude staff in apt. complex. Had to pay extra for parking. No guest parking spaces and street spaces unsafe. Apartment was dirty. Poor air conditioning and temperature controlled by management.
  • I worked in the general medicine department(s) in the hospital. Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
