  • I worked in the Hvicu department(s) in the hospital. You get a 4 hour and 12 hour orientation on the unit. They use Cerner. The assistant manager was flexible with scheduling. Travelers mostly get IMC assignments. I think I took care of 1 ventilated patient the whole half year I was there. A few of the NP’s at night were mean and controlling, one going as far as to say “do not titrate any gtt without asking first”. Morale was very low and I do believe the travelers outnumbered the core staff. Traveler comments were often heard. There was really no opportunity to further your skills. I received report on a patient just to have the charge nurse yell that I was just a traveler and couldn’t care for that patient because of a gtt they were on, a gtt that I was well versed on by the way. 01/18/2018
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Airbnb . Housing was located in city of Hershey. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I used Airbnb for this assignment and had no problem finding clean, close and affordable housing options.
  • I worked in the PICU department(s) in the hospital. Not floated first, only floated a handful of times. Extended my contract, and was offered a permanent position(wanted to keep traveling). Gave travelers challenging assignments once they saw what you could handle. Children's Hospital is attached to the adult hospital. 01/11/2017
