  • I worked in the Psychiatric department(s) in the hospital. This was one of my favorite travel assignments. I even extended which is something I rarely if ever do. The hospital staff in all three units I worked in was very accepting and I made some very good friends while here. Not a far travel to Iowa City where I took in art, music theater and dining. Cedar Rapids had many restaurants and shopping venues. The farmer's markets and local day trips were great. I took housing subsidy and rented a room in a home in the historic district. The people are very nice and friendly in this part of the country. If it matters to you, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City is in the top 100 Smart Cities in the nation. 11/28/2015
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was not applicable. Housing was located in city of Cedar Rapids. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. If traveling with a pet, most of the apartment complexes do not take pets. The only down side I could find. I got out of town before winter hit as I suspect that would not have been fun!
