  • I worked in the med surg department(s) in the hospital. The staff is extremely traveler friendly! The environment is clean, and the staff overall is all very friendly. I had 2 days of orientation and always had a fair patient load. They are very appreciative of travelers. 07/27/2016
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Washington Terrace. Housing was located in city of Bloomington. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I sublet from a student, which was cost effective and offered nice, furnished housing.
  • I worked in the Telemetry department(s) in the hospital. I enjoyed my time at IUB. I worked nights and there was a family feel to the staff. Many new nurses, young and open minded. There always seemed to be a team effort to tasks. Everyone would always ask "Are you ok? What can I do to help?" And they meant it! I enjoy those work environments. The patient load was at time 6:1 and that was a bit much for me, but the team effort helped with that. They use Cerner. There is a good amount of charting to be done. The admissions are quiet lengthy and take too much time I feel. Again the charge nurses jump in and offer to do histories and help with orders. That helped. The cafeteria food was tolerable. Parking was either garage or street. Not bad. I self scheduled the entire contract. Keely Nichols was very flexible on scheduling. Overall, I would return. Bloomington is a quaint little town full of culture and art. it's a very quiet, and nice little town. 04/10/2016
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Hyatt. Housing was located in city of Bloomington. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. The Hyatt offered great hot breakfast. The only downfall is rates increase when IU university has games. The shower doesn't get anywhere near hot. The water is almost room temperature. Paying that much for a room you'd think there'd be hot water. Arrgh! Still the finishes were modern and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was garage, but you had to pay $20/night or park down the street about a block away in a neighborhood.
  • I worked in the M/S department(s) in the hospital. I rented an apt from a lady on Craigs list at Eagle Pointe Golf Resort. Hard to find non-student housing for 3mths. Nice staff, make u feel welcome. Nurse manager and asst mgr don't mind jumping in to help u out.i was able to schedule myself before the new schedule was even open to regular staff. Keely Nichols is awesome that way and very flexible. They use a lower end of Cerner but trying to improve it everyday. The only downfall is the uniforms are red top with black pants from their vendor. However since the vendor was so far behind I went to Walmart and bought my red and black and they were just fine with it. 02/26/2016
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Eagle bay pointe resort. Housing was located in city of Bloomington . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I found housing on Craigs list. But there are others in this resort who have rental that wld be worth ckg into. They have multiple pools
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Candlewood Suites. Housing was located in city of Bloominton. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. 12/15/2015
  • I worked in the Mother/Baby department(s) in the hospital. Clinical Manager, staff nurses & tech's - wonderful working environment! They love their travelers! Only float staff; I did not float anytime for 2 assignments and ext. Home of Indiana University! If you ever have a chance to travel to IUB, accept! The facility was very nice - new. Pricey! Due to Indiana University, all lodging in the higher price range. Candlewood was nice & quiet; always felt safe. Free laundry facility, gym, pool.
