  • I worked in the Mugar 4 medicine/oncology department(s) in the hospital. Hyannis isn't the best area of Cape Cod. There was lots of drugs and homeless people. I did overall feel safe. I was floated a lot while working at Cape Cod. I floated every four hours and worked nights. There was one NP that covered the entire hospital besides critical care and ER and that NP was very incompetent or lacking assessment skills his skills- I had multiple scenarios where I felt that I needed to call a rapid response just for adequate care. The PA and DO that covered some nights were excellent. The staff was friendly enough- I struggled to make friends and i'm pretty outgoing. The cafeteria closes after 7, no food for night shift. I like the easy commute to Boston. 12/26/2019
  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was AIRBNB. Housing was located in city of Yarmouth Port . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. I lived in a cottage with 3 bedrooms and paid 800$ a month. It was a steal but it was also off season.
  • I worked in the OB department(s) in the hospital. . 10/08/2018

  • I worked in the Med surg department(s) in the hospital. I was hired for one unit, but when census went super high I got floated every night 2x per shift, always floated again at 11pm. They really do use travelers as floats with abandon. Part of it is that there are certain overflow units that staff gets paid double time for and they cannot be floated off that unit. Heavy pt loads making floating really hard. Equipment is lacking, floor staff have no personal phones to make things easier. No tele monitor techs. Cafe has good selection but has made several people I know of sick. Day shift has to take a short shuttle to the hospital or walk about 5 to 10 mins. I rarely got block scheduled. Overall staff was great and inviting, and it's cape cod so people come for the beach. 01/16/2018

  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. Wonderful experience which led to an extension. Very traveler friendly as this is a vacation area that increases their patient numbers dramatically in the summer months. The patient ratio in the summer was 5-6 patients but decreased in the fall months to 4-5 patients. Lots of great things to do in the summer but definitely slows down in the fall! Traffic is slow during the summer months as well due to volume. Great seafood. High rental rates in the summer but this too drops in the fall. Would highly recommend this facility and would consider returning. 12/02/2016

  • I worked in the Float pool department(s) in the hospital. They lied in the interview. ALL travelers are in the float pool. Foul mouthed unfriendly staff; never heard so much profanity in a hospital. Staffing are bitter horrible people, tried repeatedly to put me on days when my contract said nights. Cancelled contract as a result. Horrible layout and parking. Cafeteria food inedible. Housing very expensive and very substandard. 10/21/2016

  • I worked in the Float department(s) in the hospital. Floated unmercifully. Staff is cliquey and act like a bunch of unprofessional, foul mouthed children. Hospital layout inefficient and unwieldy. Staffing is a bunch of bitter hags locked together in a windowless office. The beaches are expensive and not worth it. Housing is horribly expensive and generally substandard. Pass. 09/15/2016

  • I worked in the Float pool department(s) in the hospital. Hired to work a specific unit and shift. Was not honored although it was in my contract. Staffing office is mean as snakes and rude. ALL TRAVELERS are 'float pool' and they float midshift. Give you worst assignments. Half paper and half shitty computer system. Horribly unsafe patient ratios. Housing outrageous and second rate. Traffic terrible. Grrrr. 06/22/2016
