  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. I worked on the covid rule out and neuro floors, these two floors shared staff. Ratio 1:4 on covid, 1:4-5 on neuro. Basically one charge for both floors and they had a full patient assisngment 60% on the time so limited help. All the nurses were nice and answered any questions when need. Assignments seemed fair but again the charge nurse has no idea what is going on with your patients so it's very random and not based on accuity. I floated a ton, every single shift for the last 3 weeks but I didn't mind, the other floors tended to be better than the covid floor. Doctors were relatively easy to get a hold of and for the most part pleasant to work with. The weather was amazing during the winter months and I've heard boswell is much better than other banner locations in Phoenix so I would recommend. 04/01/2021
  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Desertaire RV park. Housing was located in city of Surprise, AZ. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. They have hook up spots available but we have solar/water tanks and chose to do the dry camping. This area was cheaper and more private which was perfect for us! Clean bathrooms and coin laundry where very convenient.
  • I worked in the Med Surg department(s) in the hospital. Bully travel nurses. NO proper PPE. Give 5/6 pt assignments to travelers while their staff has 3 patients. Acuity is no considered or patient safety. No patients get bathed, Pca's refuse to help. Patent ratios are impossible to give safe patient care. 02/08/2021
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was 1191 Fawn Ln. Housing was located in city of Peoria. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Nothing closer than 10 miles. Housing price doubles during the winter.
  • I worked in the GA/GB department(s) in the hospital. The staff complains about everything and don't help each other. Good luck finding someone to cover your lunch or help with a boost. I got canceled once/week, floated once/week, and they eventually canceled the contract for low census with 3 weeks left in my contract. They canceled me twice in a week once even though I could only be canceled once/week per my contract and then refused to reimburse me for the "canceled shift" I got charged for since they didn't document properly. My agency ended up covering the cost. 09/17/2020
  • Housing was approximately 17 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Accolade Apartments. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. I would not recommend this housing complex. It was super loud and not very clean. Dogs were barking constantly and the walls were extremely thin. The floors were filthy when I moved in. They shut the water off and did paving without notifying me. 10/10 would NOT recommend.
  • I worked in the ICU GA/GB department(s) in the hospital. I worked in the ICU and when I was in the unit my assignments, for the most part, seemed fair with other nurses. I did not feel that the unit had a strong team approach. It was all nurses for themselves. On top of that, I floated nearly 75% of my contract. Yes, I kept track. On the floors you would have 5-6 patients. Which is not an easy task when you are used to 2-3. When I attempted to talk to my manager about it she offered to move me to a step down unit but couldn't offer any other solutions. I rarely went 3 shifts in a row with the same assignment. You could never learn your unit or become familiar with any nurses, it was very challenging to make friends and Banner does NOT support its travelers. 03/19/2019
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was n/a. Housing was located in city of Phoenix. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. I housed with a family friend. I loved the Phoenix area and will never return to the Banner system.
  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. I had to BEG the doctors for orders. When clarifying orders with the pharmacy, the pharmacist said, "do you know how to read?" Doctors and staff don't even acknowledge your presence. The charge nurses are straight up lazy. The onboarding was RIDICULOUS. Two nurses sat at the nurses station talking about how long their boyfriends last sexually. And I'm in my third week ... 12/24/2018
  • Housing was approximately 30 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Lake Pleasant RV Resort. Housing was located in city of Peoria. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I travel in an RV. I was told there are plenty of RV parks right in the vicinity. There are not. They're all full for 6 months out.
  • I worked in the CVICU-Ground C department(s) in the hospital. Banner has a call off policy that states they can call you off one shift per week if your a external traveler! Best time to go is beginning of winter. Ground C was not a bad place to work but floating sucks! Plus you can get up to five 5 patients that can be heavy patient assignments when you don't do this often. 04/09/2018

  • I worked in the Icu.. ga/gb department(s) in the hospital. This company is all about the money.. treats travelers absolutely terrible a lot of new grads .. with no education.. in icu of three 12s.. float one, cancel one, work one.. they flex staff home often and leadership is terrible.. would never recommend.. 02/02/2017

  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. I loved my department (emergency). The on boarding process was a bit heavy. Though that said the education itself was surprisingly relevant. Building was horribly antiquated. The emergency room techs were some of the best I've ever worked with. As far as housing goes our apartment was great, weather was great. The area your in is void of any culture. Basically a big strip mall in the burbs 12/02/2016
