  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. Orientation was geared toward ICU travelers with little information for ED. The computer layout and charting is completely different from the inpatient layout. The one day of orientation ended in "make sure you tell your preceptor you didn't get much trackshell info." The ED manager, Susan Sanderson, DOES NOT work with your schedule. The staff morale is terrible due to the lack of respect the staff receives. The staff are amazing and work well together, but have little time to help one another. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 with mostly ESI level two's. The doctors are great, but poorly staffed as well. Travelers are treated poorly - not allowed to triage patients or pick up overtime although at times only three nurses at night. There is an accredited chest pain area, but utilized for abdominal pain and strokes. Nurses perform all EKGs and IVs; on night shift, nurses are also responsible for transporting patients for tests and to radiology. 03/29/2017
  • Housing was approximately 0.1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Laquinta . Housing was located in city of Memphis. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1.
  • I worked in the ED department(s) in the hospital. N/a 02/28/2017
  • The name of the housing complex was N/a. Housing was located in city of N/a. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. The hospital is loaded with travelers. The ED is very short staffed, but staff and techs are great at helping and answering questions. Very busy and nurses do all IVS, blood work, POC tests such as troponins, crests, aND pregnancy.
  • I worked in the Neuro/Tele department(s) in the hospital. This hospital is completely unsafe. Ratio is 7:1 which isn't necessarily the problem. There is never enough support staff, so you end up doing your own turning, adls along with caring for high acuity patients. Perm staff is unhelpful mainly because they don't have time to help. All supplies are broken or falling apart because they're so cheap. They will dump on travelers (even though they only have 2 staff nurses on all of night shift). Absolutely the worst place I've ever worked in my life. Every traveler who I've come across in the hospital has said it's the worst place they've ever been in several years of nursing. The pay is good but not worth putting your nursing license on the line every night you work. There's a reason they pay so well, CRISIS. Do not go to this hospital! 01/17/2017
