  • I worked in the ED department(s) in the hospital. Everyone was very friendly from the start and made me feel welcomed. I got floated to this facility from a sister facility St. Mary's. Facility is new within last year so everything looks nice and new. however, doors are not automatic which isn't ideal with wheelchairs. Manager is in charge of 3 facilities and overloaded which caused a lot of unorganization. Received schedule with little advanced notice and constantly changed. They had me switch back and forth from days to nights. Use meditech for charting. Nurses are unable to override several medications from pyxius and meds must be entered correctly for them to appear under the patient's profile to be pulled (example, order must be put in for dilaudid 1mg/ml and not the 2mg/ml or you couldn't pull or overide. order had to be fixed)Not ER friendly. This is a stand alone ER so acuity is for the most part low although it does get busy. 2 nurses for 13 rooms (2 of which not typically used) 2 nurses in back with patient care. After registration is complete, one of the 2 nurses go to front and bring patient's back to triage. If rooms are full, patient's wait before getting triaged due to no nurse designated to triage. one RT, one doctor. No techs, no secretaries. RN's were also in charge of all transfer paperwork and phone calls. Felt like I was providing unsafe nursing care on multiple occasions due to patient's being in lobby without triage assessment because the 2 nurses were busy in back with 11 patients. Teamwork is a must because there are no designated assignments. 05/14/2018
  • Housing was approximately 25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Chelsea Apartments. Housing was located in city of Beaumont. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Found own housing. Unfurnished apartment. Nice facility, friendly staff. quick maintenance if needed. pool and fitness facility on site. Close to mall, shopping, restaurants and highway.
