  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I worked ICU and floated to MS often which I did not mind at all because the staff on the MS unit was just as amazing as the ICU staff. The ICU consists of a 4 bed unit and sometimes you are by yourself but the house supervisor and other staff from MS were always available. The MS was just on the other side of the ICU double doors. The manager of the unit was spectacular and very easy to talk to. Scheduling was fair and staff were great about trading if needed. I was invited to do things out side of work and the manager came in on every holiday to bring goodies to all of the staff. This is a great place to work and I highly recommend it. It is a great place if you want to work at a place where everyone is a team player and not chaotic. The only down side is, it is a critical access hospital so anything serious or traumatic goes south and true critical care is not there. The Dr's are very friendly and helpful not once did I encounter one that was not. It was a great change in pace for me. 10/18/2018
  • Housing was approximately 6 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Cherry Hill Golf Course. Housing was located in city of Sturgeon Bay. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I rented a private condo recommended by another traveler that knew the owner. There is also a staff ICU nurse that rents out a room. The whole door county is easy to access and it is beautiful in the fall. If you don't like cold it is not for you in the winter. There are always festivals and farmers markets to attend. Restaurants are plentiful, the people are friendly and the crime is very low. If you come in the summer, I recommend going up to Washington Island and checking out the lavender fields.
