  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. The nurses in the ICU department are all amazing people to work with. There is great teamwork. I will not consider this assignment again due to the travelers getting triple patient assignments a lot---they do not allow travelers to get the neuro-surgical patients, etc. so most of the time you end up geting the triples that are being sent out and you end up admitting 2-3 before your shift is up. Other times, you will be tripled with one circling the drain and it ends up being unsafe having to care for not one but TWO more. The staff makes up for it for sure but my days are wiped doing non-ICU nursing related things. The ICU is very low-acuity so I often feel that we are on a med-surg/tele unit. There are some night shift travelers who are not happy with how their schedule is done. 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off, etc-not conducive for night shift workers and their circadian rhythms. You will not get your schedule until the week prior to the schedule start date! As I said, the staff makes up for but I wouldn't take a contract here again for the other reasons. 07/07/2019
