  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. You have 2-4 patients depending on your assignment and how well they are staffed. Department is organized into pods. Each pod has its own lead nurse. Acuity is moderate. They have a pod dedicated to psych which I never worked in. Nursing staff is friendly and use to travelers. Doctors are okay ... not the most approachable group. Any color scrubs. 08/27/2020
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Facebook . Housing was located in city of San Diego. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Housing is easy to find in San Diego. The closer you are to the beach the more expensive it gets.
  • I worked in the Pcu department(s) in the hospital. I had a 45 minute interview. At no time was I told Id be used as float pool. I float every day. I have floated to areas if yhe hospital ive no experience with, like ED and outpatient sugery. They tokd me i would float or endcmy contract. Well. Being 2600 miles from home... i floated. Ive also been floated to another hospital. I didnt know where to park, my badge did not work for med room or supply room or anything. Every day i wake up dreading finding out where they will send me. I get o say whatsoever in my schedule. 11/25/2017

  • I worked in the SICU department(s) in the hospital. Was floated to PCU every week, sometimes all week long. Only given the "easiest" of patients no matter if they were on opposite ends of the hall. Staff extremely helpful and traveler friendly. A lot of travelers on permanent staff, and stated that they got tired of being floated, but liked the people. Very expensive area to live in for housing. No safety issues noted. Loved going on hikes and La Jolla beach! Too cold for me to live her permanently-night time gets down to 50-60s in May-June! 07/09/2016
  • Housing was approximately 9.6 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Ranchos Los Coches RV park. Housing was located in city of Lakeside. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. RV park was nice. Not much for shade though, so gets hot and AC runs constantly.
  • I worked in the MICU/SICU department(s) in the hospital. Overall a good hospital to be a traveler nurse for. Very nice MICU with huge rooms and nice equipment. Probably one of the best managers I have ever had the pleasure to work for. Staff was great on both day and nights. Only got floated to SICU (home was MICU). Doctors left little to be desired, were moody, but got the job done. 01/16/2016

  • I worked in the SICU department(s) in the hospital. The ONLY downside to working at this facility in the ICU is that you may be floated to the PCU, which at this hospital may include floor overflow. 06/23/2012
