  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. The OR is the worst department. Stay away. 06/17/2017
  • Housing was approximately 1.25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Private rental. Housing was located in city of Saranac Lake. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
  • I worked in the Endoscopy PACU department(s) in the hospital. Computerized charting and the mentor for me was too busy to show me anything. Trial and error got me through. Regular staff almost non-existent. Had days with 30 patients and 2-3 nurses. 4 regular staff RN's called in on Friday before a holiday weekend - without repercussion. Swamped the travel staff. MD visit with patient required before d/c. Took up to 3 hrs for MD to arrive. Transport takes at least 1 hr to arrive. One traveler spent 3 days in ICU with a closed trachea due to the stress of the job. Another traveler left after week 7 and another traveler asked to terminate the contract in week 8. Parking was 3 blocks from the unit and cost $6 per day. This is a terrible unit. Don't even think about it. 08/07/2014

  • I worked in the ER/ICU department(s) in the hospital. WONDERFUL place to work! Staff is GREAT, hospital is exceptionally clean and well-stocked. Area is incredibly beautiful. Only left due to being 5 hours from home and still having a teenager at home. Would go back in a second. Take this assignment if you get the chance! 12/31/2006
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Buzzell. Housing was located in city of Saranac Lake. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Housing is what I needed -- one room with bath. Noisy during the day. They provided an air conditioner and cost was cheap. If you're looking for frills and more space, I would not recommend this. Landlords were great.
