  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. The nursing staff are nice, the techs are your basic lazy techs who think nurses should do it all because we make the big bucks, and orientation was really not prepared for travelers in ER. The hospital has grand plans on safety on scanning this and doing that but they lack the equipment. One night found few Alaris brains but no channels, wtf! Ratio is 4:1 and you can and I did have 2 ICU/ PCU pt’s while doing two ER rooms all night with no help. Charge Nurses old school so they generally don’t care as long as their ascom phone doesn’t ring and they don’t have to get up. They do work with travelers on schedule which with the pay made it bearable not worth staying but bearable. I travel in fifth wheel so rv Park at Soledad Canyon was nice and it’s a 20 minute drive to work minimal traffic. The neighborhood of Palmdale is alright. There is a train to LA which is nice. Overall won’t return it’s borderline unsafe 02/12/2020
  • Housing was approximately 22 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Soledad Canyon . Housing was located in city of Acton. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. The staff is nice and helpful. The layout of the hospital is confusing. Prepare to get lost. Diane is a little wacko. She seems nice, but she is crazy and power hungry. She's the administrative supervisor for ICU, so she is the one who checks your work. The area isn't that safe. Several cars in the parking lot were broken into. Other than that it was a great place to work. 11/04/2016
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Towneplace Suited. Housing was located in city of Lancaster . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I picked it myself, and decided to stay in a long term stay hotel.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. This hospital recently opened - doubled their ICU department without doubling their staff. The ICU director Diane - friendly upfront but stabs you in the back when you turn around. I had been scheduled to work a 4 week contract - 48 hrs per week. In my contract it stated my scheduling requirements and it had been signed by the hospital. The first day I was there I received my schedule - it was not anywhere near the contract agreement. I asked about this and was told that I would work when I was needed and no exceptions would be made. My review by the charge nurse were all "above satisfactory." Due to the problems with the contract agreement I was released from my contract stating "poor attitude." Two other travelers walked out due to issues with the director. 04/04/2011
