  • I worked in the Lymphoma/Myeloma department(s) in the hospital. Staff is not friendly in the slightest towards travelers. They generally ignore you and are not approachable for questions. This hospitals has very strange procedures and policies for things and weird tubing, etc so it’s very unfortunate they aren’t approachable. Most times I just had to figure things out on my own and it was not a fun experience. Also was basically scheduled every single weekend, and was not given my schedule until about 2 weeks prior to each month. They didn’t even bother trying to accommodate previous dates I had planned for things and were unwilling to compromise. A very disappointing experience as I had high hopes for Texas. But I’ll never come back to Houston. Traffic is terrible, drivers and insane, and the roads are a big bumpy, full of potholes mess. Don’t bother with the area if you don’t have to. 12/13/2018
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Montrose . Housing was located in city of Houston . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. I did air bnb and it was dirty, old, and full of super bossy neighbors constantly trying to be in my business. Perk was the commute wasn’t terrible about 15-20 minutes.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. The staff for the most part were rude and not helpful. acted as if you were puting them out if you asked questions or needed help. Did not live up to there contractual obligations. The roads were terrible, huge potholes everywhere. I found the people of Houston rude as well. Thank God for Austin. 04/25/2014
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was private housing. Housing was located in city of Houston. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. I asked someone that worked in the office where the my mailbox was. They told me they didn't know, and made little attempt to find out for me.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. This is a #1 cancer facility in the medical center in Houston. Pay very poor comparing to other hospital I worked at the medical center, but took the job expecting a great experience as everyone told me. Hospital experience however was terrible. Unprofessional management + unsafe nursing practice and documentation system. As an RN I would not work there again because I felt the safety standards were minimal. Loved my patient population however. Very diverse. Heart breaking to see them so sick.. but I take pride in being able to give them care. Staff appeared to have a "whatever" attitude. The entire hospital's focus is customer care, but not at all patient care.. extremely disappointed, I had the highest expectation of them.. 04/18/2014
  • Housing was approximately 20 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was galleria area. Housing was located in city of Houston. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I did not use company housing. Rented a room at a town house in the galleria area. Very crowded area and traffic wasn't great.. but I felt safe there plus nice area.
