  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. The PCU department is VERY INTENSE and VERY HEAVY, at least for the time I worked there. However, I do find this normal for any PCU unit. This unit is not very organized either. The PCU floor is mixed with telemetry and PCU patients. This also creates confusion because there are 2 different charge nurses for 1 floor. If you have telemetry patients, your charge nurse is the telemetry nurse on the 2nd floor and if you have PCU patients, your charge nurse is the ICU charge. This makes it very difficult to feel supported as the ICU charge nurse is spread very thin and not easily available right away. Plus, the telemetry makes the schedule for both floors, including the PCU patients which also creates an issue because they do not even know anything about the PCU patients you have. I never even met the Nurse Manager of the unit here, just the Nurse Supervisor. The Nursing Supervisor here is very nice and approachable. Most of the nursing staff did not come off as very welcoming in the beginning, but towards the end of my contract, they were more friendly. Contacting physicians is straight forward as they have a paging system. Most of the physicians are nice, but not all. In fact, the female one threw her pager one night and would make very rude comments about nurses. The biggest support on the unit comes from the other nurses as you cannot get through the shift without teamwork. Overall, I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. It was not the worst facility in the world, but I have seen better. 12/18/2018
  • Housing was approximately N/A mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was N/A. Housing was located in city of N/A. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing was from a couple outside the area from Craigslist.
  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. Very nice to travelers from house staff and other travelers working also. Fair with workload regarding ratios, admissions and discharges. The only thing I did not like was I had to work almost every weekend where some of their permanent staff worked few or none. 06/05/2015
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Seattle Furnished Suites. Housing was located in city of Seattle. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Housing was not as clean as I would have liked but the company was good with deposit and working with extensions if needed. The landlord/contact person was not readily available or did not seem concerned about things that needed fixed.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I enjoyed my time there. Unionized facility. Always got my break. I was treated like one of the guys right away. Epic charting. Great respiratory staff a pleasure to work with. Charge nurses were cool and always pitched in. Good teamwork. I would go back there anytime. 09/13/2014
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Canyon Park ESA. Housing was located in city of Bothell. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Most ESAs are yucky, this one is a former hotel, recently remodeled, clientele is business travelers. Half a block from public transportation. Nice open concept room. Staff was professional. No complaints, would stay there again.
