  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. St. Joe's used to have an excellent reputation in the area but was taken over by Tenet in 2017 and has gone way downhill since. All ancillary staff were severely reduced, so get used to doing the jobs of techs, clerks, and phlebotomists. Turnover is really high and there are lots of travelers, so everyone is trying to feel their way through blindly. They overhire for the ICU so they can staff the other units. ICU travelers float first, and float about 80% of the time, usually to PCU, where the patient acuity is always dangerously high for the nurse to patient ratio. Intensivists are excellent with few exceptions. Hospitalists are generally overwhelmed and hard to reach. 02/27/2019
  • Housing was approximately 6 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Sunrise Ridge. Housing was located in city of Tucson. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Short term leases are easy to negotiate, extending the lease was a breeze.
  • I worked in the Observation department(s) in the hospital. I had a great experience at this hospital, the manager was not bad. The scheduling process was great, I picked my days and they were willing to accommodate a last minute swap so my friend could visit. 10/21/2017

  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Extended Stay. Housing was located in city of Tucson. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Beware the Gem Show doubles housing prices in the area, and makes fibding private housing very difficult
