  • I worked in the Telemetry department(s) in the hospital. I worked night shift tele. We had am interim manager, her assistant gave 2 week notice when I started. I was never told there was a centralized schedule book, that they would do my schedule without my input/knowledge. That meant work a day sometimes 2, off a day, working at least one day of every weekend. Many of The staff forgot what sterile technique was. One nurse actually primed her blood out into the trashcan before a transfusion, not using Alcohol before hooking patients to IV's. Techs we're allowed to unhook patients from IV to toilet. the nurses we're expected to do their own labdraws. If you were lucky you had a pct that not only was trained BUT would also help. Did I mention that when asking other nurses to help check PRBC before hanging meanth aa king no less than 3 people. Nurses would give me " I'm too busy,I have to start an iv, get a catheter, pass meds, etc." really I just finally said, I've had the blood 15 minutes, I have 15 minutes to hang this before I have to take it back to bloodbank. Really everyone was do busy chasing their own tail because staffing was NOT by acuity. I got my own housing in Live Oak, 15 minutes away. The cows were in bad repair, finding one that worked before your shift could begin was horrendous. Floating to 2 south and CVU meant that you were going to be busy but we're thanked for coming to help AND that staff was nice and there was teamwork. 03/09/2015
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Value place . Housing was located in city of Live oak. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Condition Was good, looked new. Don't hang more than 10 lbs on the closet because it will fall and they will tell you to go to walmart and buy a portable closet. I didn't cause I haved 1 in my storage unit back home.
